Should I have Botox at 25?

Preventive Botox makes sense when the first lines show at rest, and no sense when there are none. Age is not the measure; the skin is. How Dr. Sara decides.

"Preventive Botox" is the thing women between 23 and 28 in Alexandria ask about most, and the thing most often done without a reason.

The right idea

Lines form because a muscle folds the skin thousands of times. If a faint line between the brows or on the forehead is visible even when your face is relaxed, a small dose stops it from etching deeper. That is prevention in the true sense.

The wrong idea

A face at 24 with no lines at all, taking Botox "so they never appear". There is no evidence it helps, and there are costs: a muscle weakened for nothing, less expression, and money every four months for years.

What Dr. Sara does

She asks you to frown and raise your brows, then looks at the face at rest. If a line stays: a small dose ("baby Botox") there only. If none: sunscreen, retinol at night, a skin booster if the skin is dry, and see you in a year. Most 25-year-olds leave the consultation without an injection, and that is a good outcome.

Quick answers

What is baby Botox?

The same product at a lower dose in two or three spots, so movement softens rather than stops. Right for first lines.

If I start early, will I need more later?

No, there is no dependence. But a face used to Botox notices its lines when it stops; that is a feeling, not a fact.

Youngest age?

Legally 18. In practice there is rarely a reason before 25 unless lines are truly visible.
