Both are injected into the skin rather than under it, both leave no added volume, and both are asked for by name in Alexandria. But they do different jobs.
Profhilo: hydration and tightness
Profhilo is a very high concentration of pure hyaluronic acid with no cross-linking. Injected at five points on each side of the face, it spreads through the skin and pulls in water, and it nudges the skin to make more collagen and elastin. Best for crepey, dull, loose-feeling skin of the lower face, neck and hands. Two sessions a month apart, then a top-up every six months.
Salmon DNA (polynucleotides): repair and calm
Polynucleotides are DNA fragments purified from salmon. They do not hydrate much on their own; they signal the skin to repair itself, reduce inflammation, and improve the quality of thin, tired, reactive skin. Best for the under-eye area, acne scars, redness-prone skin, early sun damage and as preparation for other treatments. Usually three sessions two to three weeks apart.
Which first?
Dr. Sara often starts with Salmon DNA when the skin is thin, inflamed or scarred, because healthier skin responds better to everything afterwards. When the main complaint is dryness and loss of firmness in otherwise healthy skin, Profhilo comes first. Many patients alternate: polynucleotides in one season, Profhilo in the next.
What neither of them does
Neither replaces filler for volume, Botox for expression lines, or biostimulators for real lifting. They make the skin itself better, which is why they pair so well with everything else.

Can Profhilo and Salmon DNA be done on the same day?
They can be combined in one visit in different layers, but Dr. Sara usually prefers to stage them so you can see what each one did.
Is Salmon DNA safe for the under-eye?
Yes. It is one of the safest injectables for the under-eye and is often chosen there before any filler.
How soon do I see results?
Profhilo: a glow within a week, firmness over two months. Salmon DNA: gradual, best seen four to six weeks after the course.
