You will hear “hybrid filler” more and more. It is not a marketing word for a new gel; it describes a product that works in two ways at once.
The two halves
One half is hyaluronic acid, the same family as classic fillers. It gives shape and lift on the day. The other half is calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres, a biostimulator that your body slowly surrounds with new collagen over three to six months. As the hyaluronic acid fades, the collagen it left behind takes over.
Why that matters
Classic filler gives volume and then disappears. A pure biostimulator builds firmness but shows nothing on the day. A hybrid gives you both: a visible result now and a skin that is genuinely firmer later, with less product over time. Sfera Calcium Hybrid Filler, which Dr. Sara uses, is designed exactly for this.
Where it works best
The jawline and chin, the cheekbone and temples, the back of the hands, and the lower face where skin has become loose and thin. Anywhere you want definition that does not look “filled”.
Where it is not used
Never in the lips, never under the eyes, never in the glabella or the nose. These areas need soft, dissolvable hyaluronic acid only. A hybrid filler cannot be fully dissolved, so the injector’s experience matters more than with any other product.
Quick answers
Can a hybrid filler be dissolved?
The hyaluronic half can; the calcium half cannot and simply fades over 12 to 18 months. This is why it is kept to safe structural areas.
How many sessions?
Usually one, sometimes a second after three months. Results build for six months and last about 18.
Does it hurt more than normal filler?
No. It contains lidocaine and is placed with a blunt cannula in most areas.
